MEOW!
Can we just talk about how much I seriously love this time of year? My apartment smells like pumpkins & cinnamon and I am having myself a nice little Halloween movie-thon while prepping this post. Anyway… this has definitely been a blog post I have really been wanting to do ever since I decided to do Halloween related tutorials. A cat is my absolute “go-to” Halloween look for any time I need a quick costume idea; whether it be for work, school, dance, party, anything! It is simple enough to where you can throw on all black and grab those cat ears you had from middle school but still gives you the opportunity to be creative and have fun with the makeup!
Here is my way of achieving my simple yet edgy cat-eye for any Halloween occasion!
Products Used:
Mac “Orb” Eyeshadow
Mac “Soft Brown”
L’oreal Lacquer Gel Liner “Blackest Black”
L’oreal’s Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner
NYX’s Jumbo Pencil “Milk”
Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal Mascara
Ardell Edgy Lashes 403
Urban Decay Naked 2 “Snakebite”
Lets begin…
Step 1: Prep the eye! Whether it is eye primer, Mac’s pro longwear concealer, Maybelline color tattoo or whatever, you want to be able to make sure that your eye makeup will last all night!
Step 2: Dust Mac’s “Orb” all over the eye lid.
Step 3: Brush Mac’s “Soft Brown” in the crease and lightly along the lid to provide dimension and transition.
Step 4: Take the gel liner and being to draw a standard line along the lid with the line going from thick to thin as you move from the outer corner into the inner ear ducted.
Step 5: You don’t have to, but for anyone who isn’t confident in free drawing their own dramatized cat wing, a little tip is to take a small piece of scotch tape and line it along the corner of your eye to create the perfect “tracer” for your look.
Step 6: Next, take your gel liner and carefully draw a thin line connecting from the end of your original line, going inward drawing past the actual inner tear duct.
Step 7: Continue the line by finishing up the dramatic tear duct to the opposite side to meet the wing.
Step 8: Take the L’oreal Smoldering pencil and fill in the water line (but leave the tear duct bare) as well as tight lining to make the cat-eye come together.
Step 9: Take NYX’s Jumbo Pencil in “Milk” and fill in the inner tear duct.
Step 10: Apply a coat of mascara to prep for falsies !
Step 11: Apply your false lashes!
Now you can definitely stop after this step! But if you want to add just a little more… meow to your kitty costume…continue to the last step!
Step 12: To give it the extra pop, smoke out some dark brown shadow under your bottom lashes! I used the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette’s “Snakebite”! Don’t forget to blend!
And Volah! You’re done!
Grab those ears, draw on some whispers and you’re good to go! Eat lots of candy, carve some pumpkins, and be safe!
Happy Halloween!
