Origins GinZing Peel-Off Mask Review

Well yesterday I had the opportunity to try out the Origins GinZing Peel-Off Mask. I was excited to give this a try because I have heard such great reviews about the Glam Glow silver firming mask ($69 price tag), that I wanted to give something that claims a similar outcome a try ($26 price tag).

Ultimately the mask is suppose to help refine and refresh your face to pull away any dull and tired skin. The mask also made without any parabens, sulfates and phthalates.

Review:

Keep in mind… this is only after using the mask once so far.

So first off… the color of the mask is really unique, having an intense copper sheen to it. I don’t know, I guess I’m attracted to shiny things. None the less… the mask has a very overwhelming orange-ish scent, not appealing at all. I was coughing while applying the mask. But once the mask dried the smell simmered down quite a bit.

The mask dried fairly quick and peeling it off was a hassle just because it would only tear off a small piece at a time. At first, I didn’t really notice a difference… just that my face was slightly softer and pretty red.  In which, I have dry skin to begin with so I assumed that perhaps my face would be slightly sensitive to the mask considering it is technically meant for only oily, normal and combination skin. I left my bathroom to go grab my moisturizer and when I came back to look in the mirror, I was pretty surprised to actually notice the difference. My face was so firm, even my smile lines were barely showing. So it ultimately did what the mask claimed it said it would do. My only complaint is that it left my face completely red (though firm) for the rest of the day. Almost as if I had some slight rosacea, so that was unusual. But I guess the product just ended up rushing all the blood up to the front of my face practically!

I’m going to definitely have to give this mask another try… But I would perhaps recommend snagging a sample at Sephora before purchasing.
